Different abrasives of Shot Blasting

Shot blasting is becoming a commonly used cleaning method.Steel Grit is the most common abrasive used for shot blasting, and therefore the process is generally referred to as sandblasting. The other abrasives used for shot blasting are garnet, chilled iron, olivine and glass beads. The first two are extremely coarse and abrasive and they are not to be used on soft surfaces. However, olivine and glass beads are generally used as polishing agents and they can be used on delicate surfaces like metals, plastic, rubber and glass.

Determination of steel shot is mainly to see the workpiece you want to clean : non-ferrous metals generally used aluminum shot  or stainless steel shot; ordinary steel welding pieces, castings, steel and other workpieces mainly choose cast steel shot;Diameter of steel shot is more bigger will make the surface roughness higher , but also high cleaning efficiency;Then the irregular shape of the steel grit or steel cut wire shot cleaning efficiency is better than round steel shot , but the surface roughness is also high;

High cleaning efficiency of the projectile on the equipment wear faster (relative); just use the time to count,  compared to the production efficiency this wear is not too fast.
